Do you do business with other CREW members? What types of referrals would you appreciate? Feel free to share a story behind a CREW Omaha member-to-member business deal.
Baird Holm has a broad based commercial real estate practice representing clients in all aspects of commercial real estate from acquisitions and sales to leasing to development and due diligence review. We also represent lending institutions and borrowers in structuring and documenting transactions for commercial real estate financing and construction financing.
We would appreciate referrals from CREW Omaha members in connection with purchases, sales, and leases of commercial real estate, commercial construction contracts, easements, permit applications and approvals, and commercial real estate loans.
Baird Holm also refers business to other CREW members, particularly those providing due diligence and brokerage services in connection with real estate transactions.
Several years ago, a CREW Omaha member who is a real estate agent was representing a client in finding new space for the client to lease. She referred the client to Jackie Pueppke, who negotiated the lease on behalf of the client. Over the years, that client has had other legal needs beyond the lease, such as estate planning and employment matters, and has continued to contact Jackie for assistance. While these legal matters are outside of Jackie’s area of expertise, other attorneys at Baird Holm who specialize in these practice areas have assisted the client.
Why did you choose to sponsor CREW Omaha? As our founding sponsor, tell us about your relationship with CREW Omaha that has extended over a decade.
We founded CREW Omaha in 2009 during the great recession when real estate deals and loan transactions were almost non-existent. At that time, we struggled to develop a list of 50 women in commercial real estate to invite to a kickoff event and to convince at least 25 of them to join CREW Omaha, which was the minimum number of members needed to apply to be an official chapter of CREW Network. CREW Omaha’s growth was slow for several years, but Baird Holm continued to support CREW Omaha because we believed in the mission of advancing women in commercial real estate. As the chapter has grown to over 160 members, we couldn’t be more proud of the powerhouse organization CREW Omaha has become and opportunities CREW Omaha has given to women through the real estate industry.
